THE TARA TEMPLE
A YOGA AND MEDITATION STUDIO
All our classes are accessible to beginners brand new to yoga and meditation – and to more advanced practitioners. Questions are always welcome. Classes are small allowing for individual attention.
Each one of us come together as both teachers and students. We all have something to offer and we all have something to learn from one another. Therefore, it is this light that we come to our practice to learn and to grow side by side in loving support – setting aside competition and arrogance – we leave the ego at the door and enter with a beginners mind.
Due to limited space, please call, e-mail or use our register form ahead of time to register and reserve your space in the class. You are only registered in a class once you have received our confirmation.
If you’re unable to make an offering, your presence of kindness, a warm heart is in and of itself and offering of support. Please know, you are welcome. There have been times in my life when I had nothing to offer my teacher but my willingness to learn – and I was always welcome – because I came with an open heart and curious mind. I happily pay it forward.
Many of our yoga and meditation classes are workshop style, offered in modules of 7. Each class builds on the next and it is important to complete all 7 classes to gain the most benefit. The modules are designed to take you on an inner journey of self discovery.
The exceptions to the modules are Yoga Nidra, Kundalini Yoga, early morning sadhana and Chi Lei. However, in all cases, you will still need to call ahead to make sure there is space available in the class.
“… We are stardust, we are golden
We are billion year old carbon
And we got to get ourselves back to the garden. Well, then can I roam beside you?
I have come to lose the smog,
And I feel myself a cog in somethin’ turning
And maybe it’s the time of year
Yes and maybe it’s the time of man
And I don’t know who I am
But life is for learning …”
We welcome our finite, limited, organic, physical nature to the class – with all our day to day, moment by moment, fluctuating changes in moods, varying states of health, energy and flexibility and lack thereof.
We arrive in our own unique shape and size – with our own unique life experience and wisdom, we come with our own stories and places of shadow and light, our habitual patterns and tendencies.
We embrace all of who we are when we arrive at our cushion in meditation, or to the mat in yoga and we offer all of who we are to the light of our own inquiry.
We come to our mat and approach the practice of yoga and meditation with a willing curiosity and interest to know ourselves more deeply that we may see ourselves more clearly.
Yoga and meditation offer an opportunity to return to our true nature.
Touching the infinite within, we experience what is most lovely and meaningful and liberated and we remember “We are stardust, we are golden. We are billion year old carbon and we got to get ourselves back to the garden”
